Jeremiah Houk Strive for Excellence Award

Jeremiah Houk was a senior in the Department of Political Science when he tragically lost his life. Jeremiah will be remembered for his motivation and determination to succeed and his willingness to explore non-traditional issues in Political Science. A GPA of 3.5, coursework and scholarship in non-traditional areas of Political Science are the qualifications for this award. Each academic year, the Department of Political Science Student Awards and Recognition Committee screens the work of Political Science majors and recommends to the Department of Political Science faculty the student who best fulfills the qualities and the spirit of Jeremiah. Student transcripts are analyzed and faculty vote to select a winner.
