School of Education Student Teaching Scholarship
Scholarships to support teacher candidates during their student teaching semesters.
- Be a Teacher Candidate in elementary education, special education, early childhood education or secondary education in the semester prior to student teaching
- Be in good academic standing
- Demonstrated financial need
- Submit an essay of 750 words or less explaining their commitment to teaching and their financial needs
All other criteria being equal, the scholarship will be awarded to the teacher candidate who demonstrates the greater financial need. Recipients must remain in good academic standing until graduation and awards will be made during the student teaching semester. Award amounts will be dependent on funds available and may be used to defray educational costs. The selection committee may choose not to make an award in any given semester when there are no qualified applicants.
