Paul J. Baeske Incoming Statistics Student Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to support an incoming student – either first-year or transfer, with a declared major in Mathematical Studies with a specialization in Statistics or Actuarial Science. The amount of the scholarship will be dependent upon funds available, but should not be awarded in an amount less than $500. The criteria for a scholarship/award recipient will be: 1. Must be an incoming student—either first-year or transfer 2. Must declare a major in Mathematical Studies with a specialization in Statistics or Actuarial Science. Applications will be available through the general University scholarship web page and/or the Mathematics and Statistics Department website. The Mathematics and Statistics Department Chair shall designate a committee of faculty who shall determine the awardee from among applications submitted by incoming students. The committee may use factors such as student’s grade in prior coursework, test scores, personal statements, recommendations, etc., to determine the recipient. This shall be a one-time, lump sum scholarship.
