The Mimi Zanger Memorial Award in Fiction

This award recognizes outstanding fiction by an SIUE undergraduate or graduate student. The recipient will be chosen by a Committee as appointed by the Chairman of the Department of English Language and Literature. The recipient(s) shall be either an undergraduate or graduate student(s) who has been judged to have submitted the best fiction writing for the Committee’s consideration. The amount of the award will be determined each year based on the interest income of the account and funds available.

  1. The Mimi Zanger Memorial Award is awarded for the best short story submitted for consideration. Stories should not exceed 30 double-spaced pages. Only one story may be submitted per student. All enrolled undergraduate and graduate SIUE students are eligible. Writer’s name should NOT appear anywhere on manuscript. Please upload your story through Academic Works.
