Jessica Uhl Memorial Student Scholarship

The recipient of the Jessica Uhl Memorial Student Scholarship will be chosen by a committee assigned by the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. The recipient of this one-time scholarship will be chosen based upon the consideration of the following criteria:
1. First preference will be given to an incoming first-year student already accepted at SIUE who is a graduate of Collinsville High School (IL) with an overall B average or better, pursuing a major in Applied Communication Studies or Mass Communications.
2. If no applicants from Collinsville High School plan to major in Applied Communication Studies or Mass Communications, the award can be made to an incoming first-year student who is a graduate of Collinsville, IL High School with an overall B average or better who plans on majoring in other College of Arts & Sciences disciplines. These areas include Anthropology, Art and Design, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Criminal Justice Studies, English, Environmental Sciences, Foreign Languages, Geography and Geographic Information Sciences, History, International Studies, Mathematics and Statistics, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology, and Theater and Dance.
3. If no first-year student meets this criteria, the award can be made to any currently enrolled student of SIUE who is a graduate of Collinsville IL, High School with an overall B average or better pursuing a degree in Applied Communication Studies or Mass Communications.
The amount of the scholarship will be based on the amount of funds available. The award may be used to help with the educational expenses of attending SIUE.
