Mike D. Scroggins Memorial Jazz Scholarship

The recipient of this scholarship will be chosen by a committee established by the Chair of the Music Department which must include a Jazz faculty member. The recipient will be chosen based on consideration of the following criteria: *Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 *Preference will be given to a student who is concentrating his/her studies in trumpet. The amount of the scholarship shall be determined by the amount of funds available, but will not be less than $2,500 a year for initial recipient. Additional awards may be granted in funds are available for a minimum award of $1,000. The committee may renew recipient’s scholarship if criteria continues to be met for a maximum of seven semesters (for a total of eight semesters.) This award may be used for tuition or applied to educational costs.
