Paul J. Baeske Incoming Statistics Student Scholarship

Scholarship will be used to support students with a declared major in Mathematical Studies with a specialization in Statistics or Actuarial Science. Criteria for selection will be as follows:

  • Must be an incoming student – either first year or transfer
  • Must declare a major in Mathematical Studies with a specialization in Statistics or Actuarial Science
  • Must submit an application by March 15 prior to the student’s matriculation at SIUE. Applications will be available through the general University scholarship webpage and/or the Mathematics and Statistics Department website.

The Mathematics and Statistics Department Chair shall designate a committee of faculty who shall determine the awardee from among applications submitted by incoming students. The committee may use factors such as student’s grades in prior coursework, test scores, personal statements, recommendations etc. to determine the recipient. This shall be a one-time, lump-sum scholarship.
