Bessie May Briggs Mason Scholarship

The Bessie May Briggs Mason Scholarship seeks to provide support to students who go into the Teaching profession. Preference will be given to students with freshman status who desire to obtain a degree in the field of Education. Preference will also be given to students with demonstrated financial need, but applicants without financial need may also be considered. Further preference will be given to graduates of Alton Senior High School. If when all things are considered, a student from a nearby high school shows greater promise and need, the scholarship may be awarded to another applicant.

This scholarship is renewable for up to eight (8) semesters, pending that the recipient meets and maintains all eligibility requirements.

Recipients will be chosen by a SEHHB committee.
