Eileen E. Brown Scholarship Endowment

Scholarship support for SIUE students majoring in Early Childhood Education classes. Criteria for selection is as follows:

• Full-time student majoring in Early Childhood Education
• GPA of 2.5 or above
• Sophomore, Junior or Senior status
• Submit a 250-500 word personal statement explaining their commitment to the major of Early Childhood Education

Recipients shall be selected by a committee chosen by the Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The committee may develop a formal application and process for this award. If there are no qualified applicants in the Early Childhood Education Major, the committee may choose to make an award for that year to a qualified Elementary Education Teacher Education student. The scholarship is renewable for up to six semesters of undergraduate education providing the recipient continues to meet the above criteria. Award amounts shall be dependent on available funds.
