Bill & Jean Luan STEAM Scholarship - Engineering

To provide scholarship support for students in the SIUE School of Engineering.
Criteria for the scholarship:

  • Graduate or Undergraduate student majoring in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) within Engineering, including Computer Science and Mechatronics & Robotics Engineering.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Applicants must complete an essay of no more than 500 words on “My inspiration in using my SIUE degree to make the world a better place.”

Preference will be given to students showing an aptitude for innovation, and demonstrated applying interest and knowledge in STEAM major to create solutions or applications for improving education and business to make the world a better place.

Recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and the Dean of the School of Engineering.

Amount of the scholarship will be dependent on funds available but is anticipated to be two separate awards of $1,000 each annually.
