Racial and Social Justice Scholarship Endowment
Scholarship support for SIUE students working toward racial and social justice across the SIUE Campus. Criteria for selection is as follows:
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must have a commitment to social justice, diversity, inclusion, equity and SIUE values
- Must write a 300-word statement on your philosophy and commitment to the journey towards anti-racist work
- Must write a 100 word commitment to how you plan to model anti-racism on campus
- Must be willing to participate in anti-racism and social justice efforts on campus.
- Must provide two letters of support (from non-family members) explaining why/how this candidate has demonstrated action and integrity in the area of social justice
Recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and may be current or incoming first-year students. Student(s) will receive a scholarship each year and the scholarship is renewable for each year of enrollment provided the student(s) remain in good academic standing and maintain their commitment to Racial Justice/Social Justice/Anti-Racism efforts demonstrated by fulfilling the spirit of the scholarship..
