Black Faculty and Staff Association Scholarship Fund
Black Faculty and Staff Association Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to SIUE students who embody the mission and vision of the Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) .
To be eligible for consideration for the BFSA Scholarship Award, the applicant must meet the following criteria and requirements:
1. Applicants must meet admissions requirements for SIUE and be enrolled for full-time undergraduate study.
2. Applicants with fewer than twelve college semester hours earned:
a. must have at least a high school GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
3. Applicants with twelve or more college semester hours earned:
a. must have completed at least one term as a full-time college student.
b. must have at least a college GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0.
Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need.
It is anticipated that there will be a minimum of two scholarships of $500 annually, but will be dependent on funds available.
The scholarship awards will be applied to the student’s University account for the semester and is considered by the Office of Student Financial Aid in evaluating the overall financial aid package. Should the amount combined with other awards or payments result in a credit balance on the account, a refund check will be applied by the Bursar’s Office.

- Provide details relating to your co-curricular activities, awards, work history and/or volunteerism relating to improving racial consciousness.
