Mike D. Scroggins Memorial Jazz Scholarship

Scholarship support for an undergraduate SIUE student enrolled or participating the jazz program in the Department of Music. Criteria for selection is as follows:

• Music Major participating in the Jazz Program
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 or above
• Undergraduate level student

Preference will be given to a student concentrating their studies in trumpet.

The amount of the scholarship shall be determined by the amount of funds available, but will not be less than $2,500 a year for initial recipient. Additional awards may be granted in funds are available for a minimum award of $1,000. The committee may renew recipient’s scholarship if criteria continues to be met for a maximum of seven semesters (for a total of eight semesters.) This award may be used for tuition or applied to educational costs. Recipients will be chosen by a committee established by the Chair of the Music Department and must include a Jazz faculty member.
