Nicholas T. Joost Award for Graduate Thesis in Literature

Scholarship support for SIUE graduate student majoring in English Language and Literature. Criteria for selection is as follows:

• Major in English Language and Literature with a specialization in American English Literature who choose the thesis or three-paper plan option
• Graduate student

Selection will be based on the quality of a thesis submitted by an applicant, or in the case of a student who chooses the three-paper plan, the quality of all three papers submitted. Recipients will be chosen by a committee selected by the Chair of the Department of English Language and Literature and may include non-SIUE faculty. Award amounts will be dependent on funds available. If there are no qualified applicants, the award will not be made that year.
