The Mary A. Maguire Dunnagan History/ Philosophy Writing Contest Award is an award given to a student who has written an exceptional paper in either intellectual history or the history of philosophy.
The Mary A. Maguire Dunnagan History/ Philosophy Writing Contest Award is restricted to graduate and undergraduate students in Historical Studies and Philosophy, requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the major, and is by nomination only. Students interested in being considered for the award must 1. Upload the paper they wish to be considered 2. Have a Historical Studies or Philosophy faculty member write a nominating letter.
Students are encouraged to discuss with History and Philosophy Faculty whether or not a paper they have written is suitable for this award.
