Nathan Jatcko Memorial Scholarship

This award will provide scholarship support to a graduate or undergraduate student(s) pursuing a Music degree at SIUE. The criteria for the recipient will be:
1. An undergraduate student pursuing a Jazz Performance or Music Theory/ Composition program degree or a Graduate student pursuing a Music Education or Music Performance degree in Jazz or Piano Accompaniment.
2. Must maintain full time status (12 hours minimum undergraduate or 6 hours minimum graduate)
3. Must maintain a 2.5 undergraduate or a 3.0 graduate GPA
4. Must demonstrate financial need
5. Must complete an audition process conducted by the Directed of Jazz Studies. The recipient will be chosen by a committee established by the Director or Jazz Studies in the SIUE Department of Music.

The maximum term of this scholarship is 6 years and is intended to be a continuing scholarship. If the recipient fails to comply with any of the qualifications they will not be funded for the next semester. However, should the applicant have extenuating circumstances that cause them to not be in compliance with the qualifications, they may reapply. Any student would not be eligible to receive the award if they drop music as their major, fail to maintain the minimum GPA or are no longer a full-time student. If the selected recipient fails to meet the requirements at any time, another student may be selected to receive the scholarship in their place. The recipient will be chosen by a committee established by the Director of Jazz Studies in the SIUE Department of Music.
