Shirley Motley Portwood and Harry Michael Portwood Scholarship

This annual award will go to a full-time student majoring in History. Preference will be given to African American students, however, all students are encouraged to apply. Recipient must be nominated by a History faculty member teaching a course in African American History. The recipient will be chosen by department faculty based upon the excellence of their work and their desire to become active in politics or education in the future.

This scholarship is anticipated to be $500, but will be based on funds available.
