Shirley Motley Portwood and Harry Michael Portwood Scholarship

Scholarship support for SIUE students majoring in History. Criteria for selection is as follows:

• Full-time student majoring in History

Preference will be given to African American students, however, all students are encouraged to apply.

Recipient must be nominated by a History faculty member teaching a course in African American History. The recipient will be chosen by department faculty based upon the excellence of their work and their desire to become active in politics or education in the future.
Award amounts are anticipated to be $500, but will be based on funds available.
