Ringeisen-Ruckh Senior Book Collection Award Endowment

The Ann Kania-Ringeisen and Elizabeth R. and Eugene W. Ruckh Senior Book Collection Award Endowment recognizes and promotes the development of personal scholarly libraries. This book collection award is designed to support a graduating senior that has built their own personal library of books that enhance their scholarly focus or personal interest. Criteria for selection is as follows:

  • Must be an SIUE graduating senior
  • Must provide a bibliographic list of not more than fifty (50) items from the student’s personal collection of books in appropriate citation style
  • Must provide a on-to-two page rationale and explanation behind the development of the collection

Deadline for submission will be announced during the Spring semester. Applications will be received by the Lovejoy Library.

It is anticipated the awards will be $500 annually but shall be dependent on funds available Recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the Dean of Lovejoy Library. Committee must include a programmatically diverse group of SIUE faculty and staff from academic units outside of Library and Information Services with a majority of the committee being faculty members.
