Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association Scholarship

Scholarship support for SIUE undergraduate students pursuing a baccalaureate degree in a survey related science. Criteria for selection is as follows:

• Demonstrated financial need
• Proof of enrollment at SIUE for Spring semester
• Enrollment in the Land Surveyors Specialization program or working to complete at least 24 hours of land surveying courses from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Land Surveyors Licensing Board approved curriculum at SIUE
• Brief statement of work history
• Documentation outlining goals including applicant’s plan for a formal education and career, to be no less than (1) page in length and no more than (5) pages

Also taken into consideration will be extra curricular activities related to surveying such as part time or summer employment, awards by city, church, school, service club, honor society or officer in organizations. Transcripts from previous semester showing CPA should be provided and will be used only in scoring in case of a tie. (Freshman should submit a copy of high school transcripts).

Recipients will be chosen by a committee selected by the Chair of the Department of Construction and a representative from the Office of Student Financial Aid. Award amounts are anticipated to be $500 annually but shall be dependent on available funds.
