Sigma Phi Epsilon IL Eta Chapter Brotherhood Forever Scholarship Endowment

Scholarship support for Sigma Phi Epsilon members at SIUE. Criteria for selection is as follows:

  • Must be in good standing with the IL Eta chapter and University
  • Must have a cumulative GPA equal to or above the required GPA for executive chapter officers
  • Must have documented leadership roles within the fraternity or all campus organizations as defined for the academic year qualifications
  • Must have documented participation in chapter intramurals or the Student Fitness Center wellness program as defined for the academic year qualification
  • Must be actively participating in the Balanced Man Program meeting the challenges of his current level.
  • Must have documented participation in the Residential Learning Community program study and speaker series
  • Must be participating in a Mentor role as defined for the academic year qualifications
  • Must have documented campus an/or community service hours as defined for the academic qualifications
  • Must have a record of regular attendance at scheduled chapter meetings and programs as defined by the IL Eta chapter

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA (Class specific – past calendar year)

SIGMA EXCELLENCE – Freshman Level Criteria
1. Completed Sigma requirements and in top 10% of test
2. Successfully served as a committee member on at least one committee
3. Attended SPE EDGE training program

PHI EXCELLENCE – Sophomore Level Criteria
1. Completed Phi requirements and in to 10% of test
2. Successfully served as a mentor
3. Attend the Carlson Academy or completed 12 hours of leadership training

EPSILON EXCELLENCE – Junior Level Criteria
1. Completed Epsilon requirements and in top 10% or test
2. Held a leadership role in chapter or other student organization
3. Presented at least one session or program for BMP

BROTHER MENTOR – Senior Level Criteria
1. Completed Brother Mentor requirements
2. Presented at least one session or program for BMP
3. Participated in career internship or training in career field
4. Successfully held a top leadership level position in chapter or other student organization

Recipients shall be recommended by members of the IL Eta Chapter Alumni and Volunteer Corporation and approved by the Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs or his/her designee. Award amounts are anticipated to be $1,000 each to a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior but shall be dependent on funds available.
