Bob Hardy Scholarship in Broadcast Journalism
Established in memory of Bob Hardy to encourage and support students of merit in continuing the Hardy tradition of integrity in journalism through the pursuit of a degree in radio and/or television broadcasting.
This scholarship provides tuition support to full-time junior and senior students pursuing the journalistic area of Mass Communications at SIUE.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be entering their junior or senior year at the beginning of the semester in which the scholarship takes effect.
- Have 80 or fewer earned credit hours.
- Be a declared major in the Department of Mass Communications with a focus in journalism.
- Be enrolled full-time according to SIUE guidelines.
- Submit an original essay on “Integrity in Journalism.” The essay must not exceed 500 words.
Scholarship funds are intended to assist with tuition expenses for the academic year.
