Bob Hardy Scholarship in Broadcast Journalism
Scholarship support for students of merit in continuing the Bob Hardy tradition of integrity in journalism through the pursuit of a degree in radio and/or television broadcasting. Criteria for awarding the scholarship are:
- Must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Must be entering the junior or senior year (having 80 or fewer credit hours) at the beginning of the semester that the scholarship takes effect
- Must be a declared major in the Mass Communications Department in the journalism aspect of Mass Communications
- Must be registered as a full-time student.
- Essay submission of 500 words or less on “Integrity in Journalism”
Recipients of this scholarship shall be chosen by a committee established by the Chair of the Mass Communication Department and should include, but is not limited to, 2 faculty members. A member of the Hardy family should be included in the review process if at all possible but should not be allowed to be the deciding factor in the process. It is anticipated the award will be $2,000 per semester or $4,000 per academic year.
