Marie Nesbitt Promise Prize Scholarship

The Marie Nesbitt Promise Prize Scholarship will be used to promote learning and scholarship through educational support of new leaders who will actively participate in and serve their communities. It will also recognize an extraordinary individual, symbolic of others like Marie Nesbitt, by creating a living tribute to how they live their lives, the principles for which they stand, and why the work of developing the next generation must go on. Criteria for selection is as follows:

• Be junior year or above (Graduate and professional students are eligible)
• Demonstrate superior academic achievement and hold the highest GPA within their specific cohort
• Must personify leadership, scholarship, initiative, service and promise

Preference will be given to African American students.

Award amounts will be dependent on available funds.
