Mark Alvarado Scholarship

The Mark Alvarado Scholarship was created to help the future generations get the education they need to survive once they enter adulthood. It’s no secret that the cost of education is always increasing and Mark Alvarado has made it his mission to take at least a small part of the burden off of one student’s shoulder each year.

Applicants will have to submit a 500-word essay in order to apply for this scholarship. Full details can be found below.

Eligibility:
You are eligible for the Mark Alvarado Scholarship if you meet one of the below criteria:

  1. You’re a current college or university student that has not reached your final year in your degree program.
  2. You’re a current high school senior that has already been accepted into a college or university.

Guidelines:
Mark Alvarado wants to hear your answer to the following question:

How can schools better prepare students for the workforce? For example, students in San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) are often going into a high tech workforce in the Silicon Valley, are they well prepared for this type of work?

Submission Deadline:
January 31, 2019

Winner Selection:
Once the application period closes a committee will review all applications. A winner will be selected and contacted in February 2019. The winner will have two weeks to respond and the money will be awarded to their school’s financial aid department.
