Gordon D. Bush Political Science Scholarship

Two recipients of this scholarship will be chosen by a committee established by the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. The recipients will be chosen based on consideration of the following criteria: full-time junior level student majoring in Political Science; GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must submit an essay on an urban politics topic.

The 2019-20 topic is “Partisan polarization has become a significant issue in American politics. What can elected officials do to mitigate the impact of increased party polarization that pervades nearly every aspect of American politics?” This essay should be 1,000 words in length, and should be typed in 12-pt font. The essay must contain appropriately cited references and citations using either the APSA, MLA, APA, or Chicago styles. Page numbers and an essay title should also be included.
